Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Management:



  • Shape the school's vision and direction alongside leadership.

  • Set high expectations and focus on pupil achievement.

  • Assist in setting aims, objectives, and the School Improvement Plan.

  • Develop and monitor policy and practice.

  • Support the Headteacher in school self-review and evaluation.

  • Lead in Performance Management of teaching staff.

  • Publicly support decisions of the Headteacher, Proprietress, and School Board.


Teaching and Learning Leadership:



  • Implement Cambridge Primary and British Early Years Curriculum.

  • Lead assessment across the Primary School.

  • Hold the role of Cambridge Primary exam officer.

  • Lead teaching and learning, ensuring the highest standards of curriculum delivery.

  • Monitor and evaluate teaching quality and standards of pupil achievement.

  • Develop and review school Learning Environments.

  • Maintain awareness of individual special needs provision.


Maintaining High Profile of the School:



  • Ensure Primary School and Sports areas demonstrate high expectations.

  • Lead parent workshops and induction meetings.

  • Organize displays, events, and extracurricular activities.


Resourcing:



  • Ensure Primary School is well-resourced.

  • Manage equipment and resource allocation.

  • Oversee resource budget.

  • Ensure health and safety arrangements for lessons and events.


Other Responsibilities:



  • Deputy Safeguarding Lead, ensuring robust Safeguarding practice.

  • Undertake reasonable duties as requested by the Head of Primary or Head of School.

  • Safeguard all students.


Requirements



  • Appropriate Degree, with PGDE or equivalent.

  • Five years British or Cambridge Curriculum experience.

  • Three years leadership experience.

  • Outstanding Primary practitioner with proven impact.

  • Ability to provide effective and credible feedback.

  • Strong communication skills for diverse audiences.

  • Ability to provide Curriculum training and support.

  • Organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines.

  • High level of professionalism and consideration for the well-being of children.

  • Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities.

  • Respect for all members of a school community.

  • Positive and solution-focused attitude.

  • High levels of personal integrity.

  • Acceptable police checks from relevant countries and suitable references.
