Description 



  • This job description serves as a general guide, and specific responsibilities. It's important for the electrical technician to stay updated on industry standards and regulations to ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems within the public transportation domain.


Responsibilities

Maintenance and Repair:



  • Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of electrical systems, including but not limited to lighting, power distribution, and control systems and assisting in generator general operations and other assigned responsibilities giving by the department Head. [weekly & weekend]

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues in a timely manner to ensure minimal disruption to public transportation services.


Safety Compliance:



  • Ensure that all electrical systems and equipment comply with safety regulations and standards.

  • Implement safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of staff.


Emergency Response:



  • Respond to emergency situations promptly, addressing electrical failures or malfunctions to restore normal operations.

  • Collaborate with other maintenance and operational teams during emergencies.


Documentation:



  • Maintain accurate records of all electrical maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacements.

  • Generate reports and documentation for compliance and auditing purposes.


Collaboration:



  • Collaborate with other technicians, and departmental staff to coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure the efficient operation of electrical systems.

  • Communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders to convey maintenance updates and plans.


Upgrades and Installations:



  • Participate in the planning and execution of electrical system upgrades and installations to meet evolving operational needs.

  • Stay informed about advancements in electrical technology relevant to public transportation.


Qualifications

Education:



  • A Trade Test 1,2,3 or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.


Experience:



  • Previous practical experience of 2-3 years in general electrical maintenance,

  • Knowledge of troubleshooting and systems diagnosis and cost saving and safety standard of the electrical system requirements is a plus.


Technical Skills:



  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems.

  • Familiarity with the panels, electrical layout drawing reading is essential.


Certifications:



  • Relevant certifications in electrical systems and safety protocols.


Communication:



  • Strong communication skills to interact with team members and stakeholders effectively.

  • Computer literacy skills and technical report writing


Adaptability:



  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, especially during emergencies.
