Position Overview


As a Skilled Account Officer, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial transactions, monitoring accounts, and ensuring compliance with local financial regulations, for both LIRS and FIRS.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to analyze financial data accurately. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the financial health of the company.


Key Responsibilities


Financial Recordkeeping:



  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and accounts.

  • Ensure all financial transactions are properly documented and classified.


Account Reconciliation:



  • Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial records.

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.


Financial Reporting:



  • Prepare and analyze financial reports to support decision-making processes.

  • Generate regular financial statements and reports for management.


Compliance Management:



  • Stay abreast of industry regulations and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits to provide necessary documentation.


Budget Monitoring:



  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and monitor budgetary performance.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to management on budget variances.


Vendor Management:



  • Work closely with vendors to resolve billing issues and ensure timely payments.

  • Maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.


Financial Analysis:



  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Provide insights to management for strategic decision-making.


Basic Qualifications, Requirements and Skills



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as an Account Officer or similar role.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
