Position Overview
As a Skilled Account Officer, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial transactions, monitoring accounts, and ensuring compliance with local financial regulations, for both LIRS and FIRS.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to analyze financial data accurately. Key Responsibilities
Financial Recordkeeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and accounts.
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly documented and classified.
Account Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial records.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze financial reports to support decision-making processes.
- Generate regular financial statements and reports for management.
Compliance Management:
- Stay abreast of industry regulations and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits to provide necessary documentation.
Budget Monitoring:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and monitor budgetary performance.
- Provide insights and recommendations to management on budget variances.
Vendor Management:
- Work closely with vendors to resolve billing issues and ensure timely payments.
- Maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders.
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide insights to management for strategic decision-making.
Basic Qualifications, Requirements and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Account Officer or similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
