We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Biomedical Engineer to join our team as a Group Lead. In this role, you will be responsible for providing leadership and technical expertise in the research, commissioning, installation, maintenance, and repair of medical equipment.
Additionally, you will oversee a team of engineers, ensuring the smooth operation of the department and the delivery of prompt, high-quality engineering support to our clinical and diagnostic departments.
Key Responsibilities
Provide prompt, high-quality, and professional engineering support in all activities related to research, commissioning, and installation of medical equipment.
Assess the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipment, conducting regular safety checks and investigations.
Review medical equipment requirements and specifications under design, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational needs.
Collaborate with medical experts and stakeholders to identify specific locations and dimensions for equipment, facilitating efficient patient and process flow.
Organize training programs for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Prepare monthly written departmental reports and conduct bi-annual appraisals of unit members.
Ensure departmental and toolbox meetings are held weekly, fostering communication and teamwork.
Provide leadership to the department, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
Advise management on the procurement of medical devices, conducting extensive research on price, quality, maintenance, and after-sales service plans.
Liaise with technicians and manufacturers to ensure the feasibility of products in terms of design and economic viability.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
Proven experience in biomedical engineering, preferably in a leadership role.
Strong technical skills and knowledge of medical equipment.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
