Job Description



Responsibilities:



  • Provide engineering design services as applicable

  • Responsible for the quality, delivery of systematic & detailed designs and projects 

  • Consults with project engineers and project managersconcerning unusual problems and developments 

  • Other duties as assigned by project engineer and project manager. 

  • Applies strong technical design skills to produce accurate and timely deliverables. 

  • Serves as a resource for interns. 

  • Handles design development and document preparation in written and computer-aided design formats. 

  • Collaborates with multi-discipline project managers.  

  • Supports project requirements including proposals, options analysis narratives, engineering and capital cost estimates, drawing documentation, systems design and technical specifications.

  • Researches, prepares, and presents coordinated design options. 

  • Reviews drawings and researches code issues to comply with applicable regulations.

  • Interacts regularly with key clients and project stakeholders.

  • Provides input on the creation and editing of technical specifications. 

  • Provides contract documents that meet required codes and quality assurance standards.

  • Carry out research works on current knowledge of technologies and trends, as they apply to the applicable project and market types, and continually strengthens skills. 

  • Design of electrical and mechanical systems for commercial, industrial, public and private facilities.


Qualification:



  • Minimum of B.Sc. or B. Eng.

  • 1 – 2 years Post NYSC relevant experience in a similar role


Skills:



  • Use time efficiently and effectively 

  • Demonstrate an appreciable level of technical knowledge  

  • Observe and analyze skills and make improvements  

  • Proven ability to support tender and construction phases of a project  

  • Proven ability to apply sustainable design principles within projects  

  • Ability to prepare and review detailed designs  

  • Ability to integrate design elements with architectural, civil, structural, and mechanical disciplines  

  • Ability to demonstrate a credible and trustworthy presence through professionalism, demeanor, and technical knowledge 

  • Mid-level experience in design, professional contract document development and administration process  

  • Experience with architecturally led buildings and industrial balance –of-plant type projects, during both designs and implementation phases

  • Communicate Effectively  


Knowledge



  • Computer Literacy Familiar with CIBSE, IET, National Building Code, NFPA Documents and other industry codes as applicable. 

  • Familiarity and Competence with AutoCAD, MEP. BIM Software is an added advantage.  

  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards including CEC, C282, NFPA20, NSP Utility and Metering Standards, etc. 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare and present accurate, professionally written reports and recommendations.  

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
