Brief Description
- The Chief Safety and Security Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing safety and security policies, procedures and protocols in the organization.
- The role will involve assessing and identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies to ensure the safety of personnel, assets, and property.
- The Chief Safety and Security Officer will also ensure that all employees comply with safety regulations and standards and provide necessary training and education to promote safety awareness.
- They also oversee all aspects of security operations, including physical security, emergency response planning and risk management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety and security policies and procedures
- Identify potential security risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Conduct security risk assessments and develop emergency plans and procedures
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
- Develop and deliver safety training and education to employees on safety and security procedures
- Investigate accidents and incidents and implement corrective actions
- Oversee security personnel and ensure their adherence to policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain relationships with local law enforcement and emergency services
- Manage security systems and equipment
- Manage the organization's insurance policies related to safety and security.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Security Management)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
- In-depth knowledge of safety and security procedures and protocols
- Experience with risk assessments and developing emergency plans
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant professional certification (e.g., Certified Protection Professional) is an added advantage.
