Brief Description



  • The Chief Safety and Security Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing safety and security policies, procedures and protocols in the organization.

  • The role will involve assessing and identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies to ensure the safety of personnel, assets, and property.

  • The Chief Safety and Security Officer will also ensure that all employees comply with safety regulations and standards and provide necessary training and education to promote safety awareness.

  • They also oversee all aspects of security operations, including physical security, emergency response planning and risk management.


Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement safety and security policies and procedures

  • Identify potential security risks and develop mitigation strategies

  • Conduct security risk assessments and develop emergency plans and procedures

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards

  • Develop and deliver safety training and education to employees on safety and security procedures

  • Investigate accidents and incidents and implement corrective actions

  • Oversee security personnel and ensure their adherence to policies and procedures

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local law enforcement and emergency services

  • Manage security systems and equipment

  • Manage the organization's insurance policies related to safety and security.


Qualifications and Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Security Management)

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role

  • In-depth knowledge of safety and security procedures and protocols

  • Experience with risk assessments and developing emergency plans

  • Strong leadership and management skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment

  • Relevant professional certification (e.g., Certified Protection Professional) is an added advantage.
