Develop and implement quality control procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and industry standards.
Conduct regular inspections of food preparation areas, storage facilities, and equipment to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and adherence to food safety protocols.
Monitor and evaluate food handling and preparation processes to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with the management team to develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to food safety and quality assurance.
Train and educate employees on food safety practices, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with food safety regulations and company standards.
Coordinate with external agencies, such as health departments or third-party auditors, for inspections and certifications.
Investigate and address customer complaints related to food quality or safety concerns.
Maintain accurate documentation of quality control activities, including inspection reports, corrective actions, and training records.
Qualifications
HND / Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum two (2) years post-NYSC experience
Must reside in Abuja
Relevant work experience in quality assurance in the food service industry will also be considered.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, such as HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and local health department guidelines.
Excellent understanding of food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential risks or deviations from quality standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in using computer software and tools for documentation and record-keeping.
Knowledge of food testing and analysis techniques is a plus.
