Job Description



Mandatory



  • Must have experience in FMCG, especially Water or Beverage Factory and should be ready to relocate to Benin City if not resident in Benin.

  • Familiar with the water treatment, front-end blending, filling and back-end packaging equipment and production processes of neutral milk beverages, familiar with the working principles and maintenance skills of boilers, air compressors, PE blow molding machines, especially linear blow molding machines

  • Identify, diagnose and resolve equipment-related problems and responsible for the overall equipment performance.

  • Define equipment maintenance programs to sustain continuous operation for production

  • Implement continuous improvement programs / activities on equipment to improve tool operational safety, and performances, minimize losses and maintenance cost

  • Work with equipment and automation vendors to setup machine and material automatic handling capabilities.

  • Lead / participate in equipment benchmarking and definition of Tool of Record (TOR)

  • Participate in cross-functional team activities to achieve overall production yield, quality and cost goals

  • Lead/coordinate new equipment installation and production release, incl. buyoff, training, etc.

  • Provide support to manufacturing 24x7 operation and ensure maximum equipment uptime to meet weekly production targets.

  • Work closely with process engineers to understand equipment interactions and limitations relative to operating specifications;

  • Perform regular equipment checks, calibrations and characterization;

  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment according to operating manuals, schematics, blueprints, etc;

  • Assume ownership of maintaining and calibrating production tools by equipment manufacturer specifications;

  • Interface with process engineering to develop and support new processes and applications.

  • Work with equipment and automation vendors to set up material handling functionality.

  • Support internal and external audits.

  • Support production as needed.

  • Confidentiality of department data and proceedings must be maintained at all times. Revealing such details to third party regardless of who they are is a serious offence.

  • Planning, developing, training and empowering existing downline human resources to take on additional and higher responsibilities.

  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environment policies & procedures (Personal Protective Equipment, Good Housekeeping, Good Manufacturing Practices) to aim at Zero accidents in respective work areas.

  • Familiar with the spare parts section of the SAP system, responsible for spare parts classification, statistics, purchase, usage management, and cost control of equipment within the jurisdiction.

  • Carry out any other task given by Management from time to time.


Qualifications & Experience

Education:



  • Technical secondary school or technical school or above Holder in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field of study


Experience:



  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing industries (preferably FMCG)


Technical Competencies:



  • Familiar with trouble shooting skill, root cause analysis techniques, FMEA, QC tools

  • Knowledge in basic mechatronic, electricity, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, sound and vibration and mechanics of material.

  • Experience in doing autonomous maintenance such as CILT and preventive maintenance of utility and bottling equipments.

  • Experience in the selection of various construction materials, and knowledge in fabrication works.

  • Design plants configuration, including sources and equipment for the food industry so that they can be readily adapted to suit the product range and the process technologies involved. Take environmental and economic aspects into account.
