The Senior Sales & Marketing Manager plays a critical role in driving business development activities, overseeing marketing strategies, and managing sales operations.
The incumbent will be responsible for identifying opportunities, developing sales plans, managing staff, and ensuring the achievement of sales objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Identify trendsetting ideas by researching industry events, publications, and announcements, and tracking individual contributors' accomplishments.
Locate or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners and exploring opportunities.
Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, and financials, and evaluating options.
Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new ventures with company strategies and operations.
Ensure deliverables fit into overall strategic plans.
Monitor the performance of the sales team by establishing a system of reports and communications involving sales reports.
Lead the technical sales team by creating ongoing activities that promote the company and its products/services.
Maintain sales volume, establish and adjust selling prices by monitoring costs, competition, and supply and demand.
Manage and oversee the sales team to meet specified targets within given time frames.
Develop yearly sales and marketing budgets with inputs from all allied departments.
Oversee social media platforms, online marketing, marketing communication, brand communication, and public relations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, preferably Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.)
Minimum of 7 years' cognate experience (preferably in the Fire business), with a wide network of contacts throughout the West African region
MBA is an added advantage
Must be 37 years and above
Successful track record in developing and implementing effective sales and marketing strategies
Strong, decisive, results-oriented leader who can develop and manage relationships across the company
Commercial attitude, existing network/knowledge of consultants, specifiers, construction companies, architects, and end-users is an asset
Able to learn and understand products technically and support customers in technical questions
Product knowledge in Fire systems, HSE products, Access, CCTV, and Intrusion is a plus
