The Role: 

Flutterwave is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Associate, Strategic Risk Project Manager. The Associate will play a critical role in supporting risk management initiatives across various projects within the organization. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in project management methodologies, risk management practices, and experience working in the fintech or financial services industry.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to develop and maintain comprehensive risk management plans for key initiatives.


• Conduct risk assessments and identify potential risks, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for mitigation.


• Monitor project progress and proactively identify emerging risks or issues that may impact project timelines or objectives.


• Analyze data and metrics to assess risk exposure and provide insights to stakeholders and senior management.


• Assist team leaders in communicating risk management principles and guidelines to various stakeholders, promoting a culture of risk awareness.


• Assist team leadership in developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies and action plans to minimize the impact of identified risks.


• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.


• Prepare and present risk reports and dashboards to communicate key findings, trends, and recommendations to stakeholders and senior leadership.


• Continuously evaluate and enhance risk management processes, tools, and frameworks to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Required competency and skillset to be a waver:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management or a related field; Master's degree or Professional Certifications are a plus.


• Proven 4+years of experience in project management, risk management, or related roles within the fintech or financial services industry.


• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and risk management frameworks (e.g., ISO 31000, COSO).


• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations, identify risks, and develop practical solutions.


• Proven track record of effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering results within established timelines and budgets.


• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.


• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in all deliverables.


• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Asana, Microsoft Project) and risk management software (e.g., Riskonnect, RSA Archer).


• Strong team player with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
