Job Description

• We are looking for a reliable and experienced Debt Recovery Officer to contact debtors and claim outstanding debts. You will be responsible for recovering the money owed in as little time as possible. This position can be stressful and difficult.


• A debt collector will have to be polite and sensitive towards people while also remaining committed to their purpose and persistent.


• Excellent communication skills and a sense of urgency are extremely useful to succeed in this task. your duties are more specifically listed as follows:

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Keep tracking outstanding debts


• Plan course of action to recover owed money


• Locate and contact debtors


• Update account status and database regularly


• Comply with requirements when legal action is unavoidable


• Handle customers' questions or complaints


• Negotiate payoff deadlines and payment plans


• Build trust with debtors


• Identify gaps in the system and recommend solutions

Requirements

• A First Degree in any discipline


• Minimum of 2 years of experience as recovery officer


• Knowledge of relevant legal requirements


• Good knowledge of MS Office and databases


• Good negotiation and persuasion skills


• Experience in working with targets and tight deadlines


• Team player


• Good time-management skills


• Great interpersonal and communication skills.
