Job Description



  • As the Deputy HR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the company's objectives.

  • You will work closely with the HR team to enhance SOPs, HR guidelines, processes, policies, and frameworks to ensure compliance with employment regulations and drive performance.

  • Additionally, you will oversee recruitment, onboarding, off-boarding, performance management, and other HR functions to support the organization's growth and success.


Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Policy Development:



  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with company objectives.

  • Collaborate with the HR team to enhance SOPs, HR guidelines, processes, policies, and frameworks.

  • Ensure the employee handbook is up-to-date and easy to understand.

  • Advise management on employee-related matters and represent employee perspectives in decision-making processes.

  • Implement HR policies and ensure compliance with national employment laws and best practices.


Compensation and Benefits:



  • Work with team in administering payroll, compensation, and benefits.

  • Develop and implement compensation and benefits policies.

  • Ensure compliance with compensation and benefits laws and regulations.


Recruitment, Onboarding & Off-boarding:



  • Monitor hiring trends and manage organization vacancies.

  • Supervise the recruitment process from job description to onboarding.

  • Improve recruitment processes and standardize job design and specifications.

  • Supervise the onboarding process and design a systemic onboarding system.

  • Manage the offboarding process to ensure a smooth transition for employees.


Performance Management:



  • Encourage a culture of objective setting and result measurement.

  • Develop measurable KPIs and competency models for various job roles.

  • Collate and analyze performance appraisal results and provide timely feedback.


Disciplinary and Compliance:



  • Handle formal grievances, investigations, and disciplinary processes.

  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.

  • Implement disciplinary policies and procedures.


Other Responsibilities:



  • Drive the selection and adoption of a Human Resources Management System (HRMS).

  • Refine the documentation and data management system for employee information.

  • Supervise the Compensation Specialist in administering payroll and benefits.

  • Drive retention through employee engagement and development programs.

  • Handle formal grievances, investigations, and disciplinary processes.

  • Produce detailed HR reports and metrics monthly.

  • Support change management processes.


Essential Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Over 7 years of professional experience in all aspects of Human Resources.

  • Relevant professional certification (CIPMN, CIPD, SHRM) is required.

  • MBA in human resource management is desirable.

  • Extensive knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices in Nigeria.

  • Experience with direct sourcing methods and social media recruitment.

  • Thorough attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Highly organized with excellent record-keeping skills.

  • Proficient in IT and computer skills, including HRMS.

  • Strategic thinker with initiative.

  • Effective people skills and ability to build relationships.
