About the Position

• We seek a talented and enthusiastic GIS Analyst to join our team.


• The ideal candidate will play a vital role in harnessing the power of spatial data to inform our projects across health, agriculture, and energy, supporting effective decision-making and impactful development interventions.

Responsibilities:

• Collect, analyze, and interpret geospatial data from various sources (government agencies, surveys, remote sensing, open-source repositories, etc.)


• Develop and maintain spatial databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.


• Conduct spatial analysis using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) to identify patterns, trends, and relationships.


• Create high-quality maps, charts, and visualizations to communicate complex spatial information effectively.


• Conduct field data collection using GPS and GIS tools (when required).


• Support project teams with GIS expertise, providing technical advice and guidance.


• Contribute to proposals and technical reports related to GIS applications.


• Stay current with emerging GIS technologies and trends.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, or related field.


• Minimum of two years cognate experience working with GIS software (ArcGIS/QGIS preferred)


• Strong understanding of geospatial concepts and analytical methods.


• Excellent data management and visualization skills.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Strong communication and presentation skills.


• Experience working in the development sector, specifically with healthcare, agriculture, or energy, would be a plus.

Useful Skills:

• Experience working in development consulting or donor organizations is an added advantage.


• Experience with remote sensing data analysis.


• Programming skills (Python, R).


• Knowledge of relevant development frameworks and methodologies


• Postgraduate degree in a relevant field.
