JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a qualified Medical Lab Technician to undertake a variety of laboratory procedures of technical nature. You will be handling sensitive equipment to analyze samples or substances and conduct tests reporting findings to a laboratory Scientists.

She will be well-trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate for doing work that makes things move forward.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• To perform phlebotomy technique (venipuncture) and other specimen collection procedures in accordance with SOP's.


• Draws blood and collects non-blood specimens from patients /clients using the correct and sterile equipment in a manner that will yield the best results


• Receives, sorts and refers (where applicable) specimens for testing.


• Ensures dispatching of specimens for processing in accordance with prescribed SOPs.


• Responsible to track progress of sample delivery by couriers to ensure that specimens are received by the designated laboratory at the appropriate time.


•  Reports and capture incidents related to sample collection, sorting and shipment failures.


•  Ensure timely resolution of queries and responses to customer complaints.


• To accurately capture client’s data (where applicable) billing information to prevent reconciliation and payment delays.


• Monitors stock levels of all collection materials, including venesection “bleeding” bags, and order additional stock to ensure the availability of required materials at all times.


• To escalate / take appropriate action to resolve client outstanding requests and report incidences toTeam Lead / Supervisor.


•  Ensure timely and proper scanning of client data


• Ensure assigned work area and ambience adheres to the company's standard / brand requirements


•  Perform any other duty as assigned by Supervisor

REQUIREMENT/SKILLS

•   Proven experience as Lab Technician


•  Excellent physical condition and endurance


•  Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and database systems


• Ability to work autonomously and under pressure


•  Valid laboratory technician license


• Unquestionable Integrity and Solid work ethic


• Attention to details
