As a PSV Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, testing, and repair of Pressure Safety Valves to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facility.
This role requires specialized knowledge of pressure relief systems, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a challenging offshore environment.
Responsibilities:
Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and testing of PSVs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and operational requirements.
Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and reassembly of PSVs according to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
Conduct bench tests and set pressure relief settings on PSVs using calibrated equipment and instrumentation.
Troubleshoot PSV malfunctions and performance issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Coordinate with other departments such as operations, instrumentation, and mechanical to ensure integrated functioning of PSVs with other systems.
Implement preventive maintenance programs for PSVs to ensure reliability and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate records of PSV maintenance activities, testing results, and inventory levels for spare parts and components.
Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and assist in their training and development.
Follow established safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and the team.
Collaborate with vendors and contractors as needed for specialized PSV repairs, spare parts procurement, and technical support.
Profile
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical certifications or training in pressure relief systems preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a PSV Technician in the offshore oil and gas industry, with specific experience on FPSOs preferred.
Strong knowledge of PSV principles, types, components, and operating mechanisms.
Proficiency in performing PSV maintenance, testing, and repairs following industry standards and manufacturer guidelines.
Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards and safety protocols (e.g., API, ISO, ASME, HSE).
Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications related to PSVs.
Hands-on experience with PSV testing equipment, pressure gauges, and calibration tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
