Switch from automatic to manual controls and isolate equipment mechanically and electrically to allow for safe inspection and repair work.
Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activities, including test results, instrument readings, and details of equipment malfunctions and maintenance work.
Operating of compressors and auxiliary equipment
Starting and stopping of all compressors and auxiliary equipment, such as cooling towers, oil pumps, etc. as dictated by the raising and failing of the line pressure as per instructions.
Start-up, stoppage trip-outs, or deviations must be reported to the Control room operator immediately.
Drainage of water condensate on an hourly basis.
Any abnormalities must be interpreted and compiled in a report
Provide report to supervisor daily
Interpreted readings and act on reading abnormalities
Performs minor repairs on equipment, using hand tools.
Operates equipment to purify gases.
Perform other duties or tasks as assigned or required.
Requirements
Diploma/HND or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
2-5 years of experience as a CNG compressor operator
Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of various types of compressors;
Operation, adjustment, and maintenance of pneumatic tools and auxiliary equipment;
