As the Laboratory Operations Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and quality standards are met.
You will play a pivotal role in managing laboratory personnel, implementing protocols, and optimizing processes to support the organization's objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction to the laboratory team, including supervisors, technicians, and support staff.
Set clear goals and expectations for team members and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
Oversee quality control, inventory management and logistics for the lab.
Develop and implement standardized protocols, procedures, and workflows to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Implement quality assurance measures to maintain accuracy, reliability, and integrity of laboratory results.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory guidelines, accreditation standards, and best practices.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and address any non-conformities.
Manage laboratory resources, including personnel, equipment, supplies, and budget allocation.
Optimize resource utilization to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
Develop training programs and provide ongoing education to laboratory staff on new techniques, procedures, and regulations.
Foster a culture of professional development and mentorship to enhance the skills and capabilities of team members.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for career advancement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, or related field). Advanced degree is a plus.
5 - 7 years of experience in laboratory operations, with 4 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, equipment, and instrumentation.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality management systems
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
Experience in budget management, resource allocation, and procurement.
Proficiency in data analysis and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
Professional Certification is a plus.
