Job Description



Main Functions



  • The prime objective for the Fixed Equipment Strategy Specialist is to co-ordinate and facilitate fixed equipment strategy development for the site. The role also provides materials engineering support for routine and turnaround activities for the site.


Task and Responsibilities

In addition to Level 1 tasks and responsibilities, Level 2:



  • Manages the facility-wide maintenance function to ensure the availability of safe, responsive, high quality, repair and maintenance services including preventive, routine, non-routine and emergency capabilities.

  • Provide necessary development, motivation, coordination and internal cooperation for groups/individuals under his/her control in order to maximize efficiency.

  • Facilitate the Fixed Equipment Strategy program

  • Responsible to establish annual and periodic fixed equipment strategy plans with the business teams for fixed equipment

  • Provide technical support on program execution – pressure equipment coating, vessels inspection, tanks inspection & calibration, PSV risk based inspection etc.

  • Update/optimize equipment strategies based upon incidents, equipment history and inspection data analysis

  • Steward equipment strategy implementation versus plan to the business team

  • Provide support for metallurgical analysis of failures and assistance in materials related Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)

  • Recommend material selection for major equipment replacement/upgrades

  • Support unit inspectors in analyzing operating, maintenance and non-destructive testing data to establish remaining life of equipment and recommend repairs and/or replacement to extend equipment remaining life

  • Participate in the Materials Integrity – Fixed Equipment (MI-FE) community of practitioners (CoP) network as a network member for collaboration and global learnings sharing


Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering within discipline or equivalent professional experience

  • Must have 7-25 years work experience

  • Strong knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria

  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs

  • Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs

  • Adroit in technical writing and business communications.
