Job Description
As an Account Officer at our logistics company, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial transactions, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Here's a summary of the key responsibilities and qualifications for this position:
Responsibilities:
- Financial Transactions: Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, including invoicing, billing, and payments, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and other accounting documents.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, and monitor actual performance against budgeted targets.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations, and assist in the preparation of financial statements and tax filings.
- Customer Relations: Respond to inquiries from clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding billing, payments, and account status in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as operations and procurement, to streamline processes and improve financial efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 Years proven experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (SAGE)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, including GAAP.
- Professional certification such as ICAN or ACCA is a plus.
