About the role:
The Policy and Advocacy Advisor ("Advisor") will serve as the key technical expert and leader on all components of the project related to political economy, economic analyses, and financial sustainability. Under close supervision of the Project Director, the Advisor will lead the following activities in support of AMR efforts: conduct a political economy analysis, analyze value for money, develop an economic investment case, and lead strategic advocacy to mobilize and sustain political and financial commitment. The Advisor will be instrumental in ensuring all components of the project are appropriately situated within existing political and economic contexts, that data is effectively informing policy development, and that AMR efforts financially sustainable.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree and 4-6 years of relevant experience. Advanced degree preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supporting health sector projects in Africa (preferably Nigeria) with an emphasis on health policy, advocacy, and financing. Relevant experience would include leading political economy analyses, policy research, investment cases, and domestic resource mobilization.
- Strong analytical, facilitation, and management skills.
- Familiarity with the health stakeholder landscape in Nigeria, familiarity with the One Health landscape is a plus.
- Proven ability to effectively engage stakeholders across government, donors, civil society, and academia.
- Experience conducting economic evaluations and value for money assessments strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, writing, and English language skills.
