Duties and Responsibilities
- The BDE identifies business opportunities and seeks their development where and when appropriate with existing and new clients.
- Carries out Strategic Business Development planning for the company.
- The BDE prepares and keeps an updated comprehensive register of prospective and existing clients.
- The BDE actively supports all tender applications within the industry or beyond and ensures that the correct tender materials, both technical and commercial, according to standards, are used.
- The BDE also ensures that all materials required for tender are up to date and always available.
- Provides strategies for marketing and sales of company products/services.
- Follows up/Liaises with the PCM, GM and MD, for opportunities, and monitors all bids, quotes, or tenders to ascertain the award status and the reasons affecting clients’ decisions.
- The BDE monitors customer satisfaction and feedback on all clients’ assessments of PPNL’s performance.
- Prepares the company’s business plan and road maps in conjunction with the GM and other departments.
- Identifies and proposes to Top Management, through the GM, conferences and exhibitions relevant to the company’s business areas that can be attended by the company.
- Provides content and coordinates the preparation of company profiles and brochures
- Carries out any other assignments as may be directed by Top Management
- Prepares and sends weekly/monthly departmental reports to the General Manager on activities carried out.
Education and/or Work Experience / Skills Requirements
- HND / Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or other related fields
- An MBA in Business, Marketing, or any Business-related field is an added advantage.
- Not less than three (3) years experience in Business Development, Sales and Marketing in the oil & gas industry
- Aggressive B2B corporate sales environment experience required. Upstream, Midstream or Downstream oilfield sales experience an asset
- Will need to have a strong drive to find new business; willing to take 10 “No” still the candidate receives that yes and constantly engage in money-generating prospecting activities.
- Ability to sustain forward momentum for extremely long sales cycles. Sometimes greater than 1 year while continuing to achieve monthly purchase order targets.
