Job Description

• As a Truck Mate at, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods across Lagos and beyond. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the truck driver in various tasks related to loading, unloading, and securing cargo, as well as maintaining the vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Loading and Unloading: Help load and unload cargo onto and off the truck, ensuring it is properly secured and positioned for transportation.


• Cargo Handling: Handle cargo carefully to prevent damage during transit. Follow safety protocols and guidelines for lifting and moving heavy items.


• Securing Cargo: Assist in securing cargo using straps, chains, or other securing mechanisms to prevent shifting or damage during transportation.


• Vehicle Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance tasks on the truck, such as checking fluid levels, inspecting tires, and ensuring all lights and signals are operational.


• Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of the cargo being transported, including quantities and descriptions, to ensure proper delivery and accountability.


• Assist Driver: Support the truck driver in navigating routes, communicating with dispatch, and complying with all traffic laws and regulations.


• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by being courteous and professional when interacting with clients or recipients of the cargo.


• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and following safe work practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.


• Prior experience in a similar role preferred.


• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.


• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.


• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
