Job Description



Our client is a provider of construction and logistics services. They offers marine logistics, dredging, civil construction, offshore services, exploration and production and marine. Due to expansion, they are currently in need of an Assistant Marine Technical Superintendent.


RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Perform budgeting and cost control measures on ship spares and docking requirements

  • Ensure sufficient stock of relevant spare parts and consumables

  • Attend to vessel dry dock, repairs and survey and determine repair specification for fleet maintenance when required

  • Responsible for planning of Marine Department maintenance activities in cooperation with the Marine Technical Superintendent; initiate the use of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and review information in database to ensure it is technically valid, accurate and up to date.

  • Manage first line preventive maintenance of marine and relevant utility systems using CMMS.

  • Support Vessel Handling and refueling equipment with the required technology.

  • Monitor technical status of vessel with relation to class certificates, survey and supervise contractors’ repairs/maintenance of fleet.

  • Work closely with the HSE management team to ensure smooth and successful implementation of QHSE system and policies. Perform systematic review of recommended codes, guidelines, and standards to ensure compliance with quality and safety management standards.

  • Ensure that vendors and contractors are managed safely and effectively.

  • Responsible for the training of subordinates and trainees; Perform competency assessment and performance evaluation of subordinates.

  • Ensure and maintain vessels’ zero loss time accident record and report to all vessel’s incidents; near misses to prevent and eliminate potential incident

  • Maintain fleet in great and safe working condition using the best possible for normal operations and schedule to continue


  REQUIREMENT:



  • Minimum: COC Chief Engineer, HND/B.ENG in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in similar position

  • Possess relevant sea - going work experience as Chief Engineer / Marine Engineer with minimum class 2 certification or equivalent, experience in AHTS, Offshore Supply/Offshore tug /Dive Support vessels, Security vessels/Platform Supply vessels.

  • Those with DP vessels experience will be highly advantageous.

  •  Analytical and highly proactive in technical troubleshooting and problem solving.

  • Familiarity with ISM/ISPS is a must.

  • Able to conduct effective stand – up training for vessel crew.
