Role Description



  • This is a full-time hybrid role for a Legal Associate located in Lagos, with flexibility for some remote work.

  • The Legal Associate will be responsible for legal document preparation, analyzing legal issues, and communicating with clients.

  • The Legal Associate will also be responsible for assisting with other legal tasks as needed.


Summary of Key Responsibilities



  • Draft and advise on complex agreements for clients in a broad range of industries.

  • Oversee legal research and provide advice and legal support to clients in multiple industries including Banking & finance, capital markets, intellectual property & entertainment, technology & startups, real estate, logistics and FMCG; Dispute resolution, Debt recovery, data privacy etc.

  • Support clients with transaction negotiation, attend meetings and other clients’ engagements.

  • Oversee the conduct of data privacy audits and handle other regulatory preparation and submission of license applications and other miscellaneous tasks.

  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance and corporate law with practical experience

  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with keen attention to detail

  • *Proactive and organized approach to serving handling multiple tasks and clients


Qualifications



  • Law expertise and knowledge of legal procedures

  • Knowledge of legal document preparation

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to research and understand complex legal issues

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Experience in a law firm or legal department is preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Law


Requirements



  • Bachelors of Law (LL.B)

  • Nigerian Law School

  • Between 4-6 years post call experience
