Job Description



  • The Position holder will lend legal support to the affiliate as part of the Legal and Compliance department.

  • The person will be responsible for Contract Drafting and Review, Executing on the Business Ethics TPR process to ensure documentation completeness, Data Protection Risk Mitigation, Law firm and Company Secretaries liaison, Training and administration of L&C activations across the affiliate.


Responsibilities



  • Contracts - Review of assigned contracts in use across the affiliate

  • Data Protection - Act as DPR for the affiliate and coordinate all related activities

  • Legal Research - Provide legal opinions and research on legal matters as required by the business to make informed decisions.

  • Training internal and external stakeholders on Legal matters including contracts, Data Protection, BE and other Legal and Compliance areas of interest.

  • Liaison with Third parties serving the Legal and Compliance Department. Review their terms of reference and retainer agreements and assure compliance to the same.

  • Follow up on payments on behalf of the Legal and Compliance team.

  • Participate as a member of the Legal and Compliance team on Business Ethics activations and Initiatives. Also, as a Middle Africa team player on affiliate wide initiatives.


Requirements



  • Minimum of B.Sc Degrees in Law with 1 - 3 years relevant work experience in a Legal department or law firm.
