Position Summary
- As a media presenter, your role is to provide the public voice or face to a wide range of online broadcast and podcast/vodcast shows, offering entertainment and/or information. Presenters relay information through clearly articulated verbal language, including voiceovers, podcasts/vodcasts, celebrity lifestyle, gist, and news segments.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, research, and write own scripts before filming or broadcast.
- Learn script and sometimes perform without formal preparation.
- Send show preps for every show to the Entertainment Specialist for necessary approval before production.
- Ensure message clarity by adapting styles, tools, and techniques appropriate to the audience and information.
- Source and invite guests or celebrities to own shows.
- Research topics and background information for program features.
- Ensure all music tracks and/or instrumentals are delivered to the sound engineer before the program for organization.
- Act as host, introducing and interviewing guests, and interacting with the audience.
- Follow detailed instructions and relevant SOP during production.
- Ensure all materials and accessories used are returned and orderly placed.
- Serve as a brand ambassador, reflecting the brand on digital platforms.
- React positively and quickly to problems or changes, keeping the program running to schedule.
- Promote produced content on social media platforms.
- Maintain a neat appearance and meet dress specifications for diverse content.
- Develop interview questions, conduct interviews, and transcribe for company projects.
- Create monthly content plans for each show, focusing on trending topics.
- Encourage respectful debates and create engaging episodes for shows/podcasts.
- Assist in seeking sponsorships and collaborations for shows.
- Monitor show growth on digital platforms and suggest improvements.
- Organize team meetings and seek ways to meet departmental KPIs.
- Take effective actions within prescribed limits without being told.
- Operate technical equipment such as podcast mixers for shows.
- Offer assistance to clients and colleagues.
- Manage content creation and upload for related social media pages.
- Submit weekly reports of all activities and deliverables.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in English Literature / Language, Media, Arts, Communication Studies, or related field.
- Professional certifications or evidence of training/development in media presenting.

- Experience in on-air reporting and presentation, particularly in video, to the highest standards.
- Authoritative microphone voice and ability to communicate effectively to listeners and viewers.
- Personable, confident, and able to sell oneself.

- Demonstrated commitment, motivation, and energy in work approach.
- Strong digital understanding and awareness.
- Creativity and idea generation with the ability to contribute fully to the planning process.
- Excellent spoken and written English; proficiency in another African language is preferable.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, manage work priorities, and pace throughout assignments.
- Strong team working skills as both a leader and a player.
- Good knowledge of entertainment with useful contacts and sources.
- Ability to maintain personal effectiveness under pressure or setbacks.
