Job Description



  • Monitor compliance with Alpha Mead's health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure a safe workplace environment.

  • Investigate accidents or incidents to determine causes and to find ways to prevent future occurrences.

  • Undertake risk assessments

  • Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees and management to enhance safety awareness and practices.

  • Perform regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety regulations.

  • Manage the development and delivery of operational processes safely.

  • Coordinate emergency response plans and procedures, including drills and training for emergency response teams.

  • Work with the Facility Managers in the disposal of hazardous waste following legal and environmental requirements.

  • Work with the HSE Advisors to investigate accidents and incidents at project sites, prepare reports, and develop recommendations to prevent future occurrences

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual HSE reports as required

  • Review and approve new equipment or materials from an HSE perspective before they are introduced to the workplace.

  • Liaise with external HSE regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations

  • Ensure proper documentation of HSE-related activities and events

  • Carry out safety induction and safety awareness for new joiners

  • Perform other duties as delegated by the HSE Manager


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in safety management, engineering, or any related field

  • Minimum of 2 cognate years of experience as a Health and safety officer in a construction environment

  • Professional certifications will be an added advantage

  • Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices

  • Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety

  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 or OHSAS 18001

  • Experience conducting HSE audits and investigations
