Job Description



We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sourcing Specialist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in researching and evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms, and managing relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of goods and services.


Responsibilities


Supplier Identification and Evaluation:



  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.

  • Evaluate supplier performance, reliability, and capacity to meet export business requirements.


Negotiation and Contracting:



  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.

  • Draft and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements.


Cost Management:



  • Analyze and compare supplier pricing, terms, and delivery options.

  • Develop strategies to optimize costs while maintaining product quality and delivery timelines.


Quality Assurance:



  • Collaborate with suppliers to establish and maintain quality standards.

  • Conduct regular quality inspections and audits to ensure adherence to specifications.


Supply Chain Optimization:



  • Work closely with the logistics team to optimize transportation and delivery schedules.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance overall supply chain efficiency.


Market Trends and Research:



  • Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes.

  • Provide insights and recommendations based on market research to support strategic decision-making.


Relationship Management:



  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.

  • Address and resolve any issues that may arise in the sourcing and procurement process.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or a related field.

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in trading, sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in export business.

  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.

  • Knowledge of Nigerian and international trade regulations and logistics, knowledge of export of agricultural products will be a plus.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in using sourcing and procurement software.
