Role Summary
The primary functions of the GBV Program Manager is to oversee the implementation of quality GBV prevention and response activities, build capacity and promote Sirri Care Values across all program implementations.
Program Planning
- Work closely with the Executive Director, and program team to understand program goals and to meet expectations.
- Contribute to ongoing assessments and analyses to better understand protection risks, map points of service for survivors of GBV and vulnerable individuals, and identify support structures.
- Analyze trends of GBV and develop/adjust program strategies to meet needs.
- Contribute to program design and the preparation of concept notes and proposals.
Program Implementation and Capacity Development
- Identify and reinforce existing support mechanisms and work closely with local counterparts to ensure community buy-in and cultural appropriateness of activities.
- Strengthening case management and referral systems.
- Work with teams and communities to develop appropriate prevention and awareness-raising/behavioural change strategies.
- Train GBV staff to become leaders in GBV prevention and response. Depending on skill sets and required roles, training may include gender, guiding principles of addressing GBV, GBV case management, referral pathway development, compassionate care, facilitation skills, mobilization, project cycle management, etc.
- Organize and support training for project and Lead partner’s Staff, as needed and appropriate.
- Contribute to information-sharing and data management systems.
- Compile monthly and quarterly reports, on time and with accurate data.
- Maintain flexibility to take on added responsibility as and when needed.
Coordination
- Coordinate with local and international NGOs, UN agencies and other stakeholders to ensure holistic support for survivors, including participation in strengthening GBV SOPs and referral pathways.
- Actively participate in protection/GBV working groups and contribute to interagency initiatives, also promoting Sirri Care’s objectives.
- Ensure maximum visibility of Sirri Care amongst the Donor, UN and NGO community.
- Contribute to the positive image and overall credibility of the organisation, notably through the application of the organisation’s Code of Conduct
Human Resources Management
- Assist in the selection, training, and support of qualified program staff.
- Develop support strategies for staff and introduce principles of self-care.
Financial Management
- Develop work plans in line with financial pipelines.
- Work with Finance and Logistics to plan and procure supplies within program budgets.
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations.
Security
- Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies.
- Consider security implications of all program activities, reviewing all new initiatives with national staff and community leaders.
Experience:
Qualifications:
B.Sc./HND, master’s degree in social work, Public Health, International Development or other relevant field of study
Requirement
- Proven knowledge and experience in developing and implementing community mobilization projects.
- Familiarity with standards and guidelines for GBV programming and coordination as well as guidance on protection from SEA
- Familiarity with humanitarian operations, coordination structures, and the mandates of donors, UN agencies, and other NGOs
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, to remain flexible to a changing environment, and to make decisions independently.
- Relevant regional experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience in representing and promoting the agency in relevant coordination forums.
- Ability to work well with a cross-cultural team.
- Ability to speak local languages
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Supervisory experience.
