Job Description



The Business Development Executive is responsible for achieving the assigned volume and profit targets in his/her geographic area. This is accomplished by developing an operating plan for the region and implementation through the effective management of the field salesforce. 



  • Leading the local field team in achieving the sales objectives for the sales area as set in the Customer Marketing Plans and Customer Business Plans.

  • Co-developing the field sales strategy together with the Regional Business Development Manager or Francophone Africa Director.

  • Recommending and executing the marketing plans and actions required per brand.

  • Managing the importers distributors on the ground to secure 3 months of product stock.

  • Leading other Sales Projects in the region not limited to the launch of innovations.


MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES



  • Ensure ambitious target setting & monitor closely for performance.

  • Ensure volume and profitability growth for all customers by increasing market share on existing products and the successful introduction of new products.

  • Develop effective, well-trained sales organization capable of achieving established set goals.

  • Organize and secure primary sales (take the orders, secure innovations are ordered, present and land the innovations)

  • Manage and report on secondary sales (Generate a Power BI system to follow Secondary Sales)

  • Ensure continuous improvement in sales growth within the Region’s territories by implementing long and short–range sales plans.

  • Coach the field salesforce for performance in relation to the targets set and build a winning spirit.

  • Recommend and implement brand actions and activations to penetrate or win market share.

  • Prepare and lead the Sales Team Meetings with focus on results vs. targets set.

  • Together with the sales team, identify & implement actions for closing possible results gaps in the concerned point of sale when they occur.

  • Manage client trade terms budget including promotional investments, price promotions.

  • Build local Modern Trade action program as well as work directly with them in execution

  • Analyze the market and share quarterly feedback on our 6P per key business unit and group segment

  • Develop Profit & Loss for respective markets


KEY REQUIREMENTS:


Essential:



  • Degree in Sales/Marketing (is preferred)

  • Minimum of 2 years Sales experience, in management position.


Desirable:



  • Brand Building/Trade Category experience is an advantage.

  • French / English speaker

  • Experience in FMCG

  • Knowledge of African culture/environment
