Overview:


We seek a highly skilled and detail-oriented Internal Auditor to join our team. The Internal Auditor will evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the organisation's risk management, control, and governance processes. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and internal auditing standards.


Responsibilities:



  • Perform internal audits by established auditing standards and procedures.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and governance practices.

  • Identify areas of potential risk or inefficiency and develop recommendations for improvement.

  • Conduct audits of financial transactions, operational processes, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare audit reports detailing findings, recommendations, and action plans for management.

  • Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and follow up on corrective actions.

  • Provide support and guidance to management on internal control issues and best practices.

  • Stay informed about changes in auditing standards, regulations, and industry trends.

  • Collaborate with external auditors as needed during the audit process.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Professional certifications include ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) or ANAN (Association of National Accountants of Nigeria).

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal control concepts, and auditing standards.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

  • Familiarity with audit software and data analysis tools is a plus.
