The dispatch rider is responsible for deliveries and pickups, maintaining all road laws and regulations and driving carefully within the standard speed limit set by the company.
This role requires interfacing with customers so the ideal candidate must be customer-centric, he/she must be able to communicate effectively in English or the required local language and must be neatly dressed and presentable always.
Other duties include keeping a detailed log of items received and delivered, ensuring the motorcycle is cleaned, well maintained and serviced regularly.
Responsibilities
Deliver items and packages to customers and pick up required items from clients
Ensure that assigned motorcycle documents/ particulars are updated and valid
Ensure the consistent safety of person, packages and motorcycle always by driving carefully and within the standard speed limit requirements set by the company
Carry out regular cleaning and inspection on the general condition of the assigned motorcycle and must properly lock motorcycle when there is a need to leave them unattended to
Sign for packages on collection from the office and get an appropriate person to sign for it upon delivery
Plan and follow the most efficient routes for making deliveries
Record required information of items delivered and received in the provided logbook daily
Performother duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Requirements
Minimum qualification - high school diploma.
Minimum of three (3) years of working experience as a dispatch rider.
Must be able to read and write - fill forms, read SOPs and instructions in simple English language
Must possess a valid rider’s permit
Must enjoy motorcycling and be a skilled rider
Ability to work under pressure
Must be familiar with routes within and around the state
Must be able to meet up with delivery timelines
Professional in attitude and appearance
Skills:
Able to work independently
Basic communication in English and fluency in the required language(s)
Good interpersonal skills
Organizational and multitasking abilities
Have good numeracy skills for delivery and expenses records.
Must be open to receiving performance feedback and be able to react to the feedback in a positive manner
