Job Description

• We are looking for a video editor who will be responsible for creating thumbnails, assembling recorded film and video footage, applying artistic editing techniques and creating finished, broadcast-worthy projects that accurately reflect the vision of the production director.


• To ensure success as a video editor, you should have expert knowledge of modern video editing techniques, be able to visualize directorial concepts and work according to a strict time schedule.


• The candidate also should have knowledge of graphic design and simple animation.

Job Responsibilities

• Manipulating film and video footage using modern editing techniques.


• Maintaining continuity while moving shots according to scene value.


• Trimming footage and putting together the rough project.


• Inserting dialog, sound effects, music, graphics, and special effects.


• Creating thumbnails.


• Capture studio-quality photographs and video


• Work both on and off-site


• Manage and oversee all technical aspects of video recording and editing


• Take charge of video ideation and creation


• Clipping videos for social media platforms like youtube, facebook. Tiktok and Instagram.

Qualifications

• B.Sc or Technical certificate is needed


• Candidate must have 2 - 3 years working experience as a video editor for social media handles especially youtube.


• Must be able to create thumbnails


• Must have a portfolio of jobs done as a video editor with proven track record.


• Must be skilled at clipping videos for other social media platforms like tiktok, Instagram and facebook.


• Knowledge of podcast production is required.


• Familiarity with video editing software like Final Cut Pro, Premiere Proand adobe after effects

• Graphics design and animation knowledge is a plus


• Capacity to communicate effectively

• Ability to pick out attention-grabbing shots


• Excellent storytelling skills


• Knowledge of basic editing principles

• Good time-management skills


• Great interpersonal and communication skills


• Knowledge and a good understanding of motion graphics is preferred.


• Candidate must be willing to work on Saturdays (sometimes)
