  • Kitchen assistant is a staff member who aids in the overall function of a kitchen. The majority of their duties are supplementary to other roles within the kitchen work area. Assistants work with both cooks and supervisors, ensuring that all functions within the kitchen work effectively. Kitchen assistant along with all staff must follow safety rules and regulations outlined by the particular limewood villa Hotel. 

  • As a kitchen assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of our kitchen. Your duties will involve cleaning, food preparation, and supporting the kitchen team. You must be reliable, detail-oriented, and passionate about food service.


Responsibilities



  • Maintaining cleanliness in every workstation.

  • Organizing, cleaning and storing utensils in their proper place.

  • Preparing small dishes such as appetizers or arranging plate decorations.

  • Assisting cooks with meal preparation and other duties as requested.

  • Storing food products safely and in line with federal and business regulations.

  • Transferring appropriate ingredients from storage to workstations safely and efficiently.

  • Maintaining accuracy of assigned tasks or customer orders.

  • Above all, the management reserves the right to assign any task outside your job description.


Other Responsibilities:


Hygiene and Sanitation:



  • Properly clean and sanitize all food preparation areas according to established hygiene standards.

  • Wash and appropriately store cooking appliances, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes.

  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.


Food Preparation:



  • Assist the Cook with meal ingredient preparation:

  • Wash, clean, peel, cut, and chop fruits, vegetables, poultry, and meat.

  • Stir and heat soups, sauces, and prepare hot beverages.

  • Record any notable food wastage based on customer leftovers.


Inventory and Organization:



  • Assist with inventory control:

  • Unload delivered food supplies.

  • Organize and correctly store food supplies.

  • Remove garbage, wash garbage cans, and clear refrigerators, freezers, and storage rooms.


Floor Maintenance:



  • Sweep and mop the kitchen floors.

  • Wipe down kitchen walls.

  • Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Comply with all food health and safety regulations.

  • Exercise exceptional time management to complete duties promptly.
