  • Our client is seeking to hire a principal. The principal will be responsible for providing visionary leadership and strategic direction to ensure the holistic development and academic excellence of our day and boarding secondary school.

  • This role requires a dynamic and experienced educator with a passion for fostering a positive learning environment and nurturing the talents and potential of each student.


Key Responsibilities

Educational Leadership:



  • Develop and implement a comprehensive educational vision and strategic plan in alignment with the school's mission and values.

  • Foster a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement among faculty and staff.

  • Lead curriculum development initiatives to meet the evolving needs of students and ensure alignment with national and international standards.


Student Welfare and Development:



  • Oversee the welfare, safety, and well-being of boarding students, promoting a supportive and inclusive residential community.

  • Implement policies and programs to support the social, emotional, and personal development of students.

  • Encourage student engagement in extracurricular activities, sports, and community service to promote holistic growth.


Staff Management and Development:



  • Support with recruitment, retain, and develop high-quality faculty and staff members who are dedicated to the school's mission.

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to promote professional growth and collaboration among staff.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities.


Parent and Community Engagement:



  • Cultivate positive relationships with parents, guardians, alumni, and the broader community to enhance support for the school.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders through regular newsletters, meetings, and events.

  • Collaborate with community partners and organizations to enrich the educational experiences available to students.


Financial and Resource Management:



  • Support the accounts department to ensure the school budget is managed effectively, ensuring financial sustainability and accountability.

  • Identify opportunities for fundraising, grants, and partnerships to enhance resources and facilities.

  • Oversee the maintenance and improvement of school infrastructure to provide a conducive learning environment.


Qualifications



  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.

  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a secondary school, preferably in a boarding environment.

  • Demonstrated track record of educational innovation, academic excellence, and student achievement.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to inspire and motivate a diverse community of students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders.

  • Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the school community.


Additional Requirements:



  • Willingness to reside on campus as accommodation is provided.

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for school events and emergencies.

  • Valid teaching certification and/or administrative licensure as required by local regulations.

  • Clear criminal background check.

  • Play a major role under the direction of the Director in ensuring the aims and objectives of the school are upheld.

  • Help to establish new policies and promote existing policies through which the school’s objectives will be achieved.

  • As a major part of the school’s leadership team, promote management of staff and resources to achieve the aims and objectives of the school and monitor progress towards their achievement.

  • In partnership with the leadership team, provide professional leadership and management of the school.Top of Form

  • Undertake annual performance, setting and agreeing of targets and objectives that will promote development in the school.

  • Work with the team to raise the standards of teaching, learning and pupils’ achievement. Setting high expectations, monitoring, and evaluating effectiveness of learning outcomes.

  • Provide regular feedback to colleagues in a way that recognizes good practice and supports their progress against professional and performance management objectives resulting in a tangible impact of students learning.

  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in the area and disseminate effectively to other members of staff.

  • Plan, delegate, and evaluate work carried out by members of staff.

  • Maintain, create, promote, and enhance effective relationships between members of staff.

  • Provide leadership and management of the school’s curriculum.

  • Provide support for parents with regards to the quality of learning and pupil’s achievement.
