They assist in preparing prescriptions, maintaining patient records, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
Prepare prescription orders, including counting, pouring, and labeling medications.
Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
Maintain patient records and update information in the pharmacy database.
Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients, doctors, and other healthcare providers.
Process insurance claims and assist with billing and payment transactions.
Perform administrative tasks, such as filing, organizing prescriptions, and maintaining a clean workspace.
Follow all pharmacy laws, regulations, and safety protocols.
Qualifications
HND or Bsc..
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification is preferred
Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a healthcare setting is beneficial.
Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and medical terminology.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing prescriptions.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with pharmacy software systems.
