Job Description



Our BDC business is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented transaction officer to join our team. As a Transaction Officer, you will be responsible for completing a range of financial transactions including processing invoices, payments, creating accounts and maintaining records. You will also be responsible for handling cash, cheque and other payment methods, as well as providing excellent customer service to our clients.


Responsibilities:



  • Handle all foreign exchange transactions, including cash, cheques, and foreign currencies.

  • Match demand and supply of foreign exchange, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

  • Execute forex exchange transactions settlement with all procedural formalities and documentation.

  • Conduct buying and selling activities, consistently aiming to upsell.

  • Provide support and information to customers, both over the counter and by phone.

  • Work towards achieving sales targets set by the company.

  • Manage money transfers with approved Agents, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

  • Handle large amounts of cash securely and responsibly.

  • Address all foreign exchange enquiries and manage currency orders.

  • Balance and bank transactions at the end of each business day.

  • Maintain proper records of all transactions and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Manage a cash float, following balancing and reconciling procedures, and prepare daily 'End of Day' sheets.


Skills:



  • Highly motivated individual with a strong drive to excel.

  • Excellent communication skills and an outgoing personality.

  • Presentable appearance, reliability, and punctuality.

  • Ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Previous experience in a cash handling environment would be advantageous.

  • Willingness to work morning/afternoon shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.


Qualification:



  • OND or equivalent in accounting, finance or any related field

  • Minimum of 1-2years experience as a bank teller or cashier

  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and team members

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion 

  • Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements

  • Experience in similar role will be preferred and considered

  • Prepared to work morning/ afternoon shifts - -weekends – public holiday.
