Job Description

• The candidate will be responsible for assembling recorded footage into a finished project that matches director’s vision and is suitable for broadcasting.


• Ultimately, as a Photo / Video Editor, you should be able to bring sight and sound together in order to tell a cohesive story.

Responsibilities

• Snap and edit pictures/videos


• Manipulate and edit pictures/video pieces in a way that is visible and audible to the audience


• Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects


• Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running


• Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate should have a Degree in Film Studies, Cinematography or related field


• Minimum of 5 years experience as a video editor.


• Proficient in editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Light works, Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut)


• Must presently be a video editor or equivalent position

Competencies:

• Digital technology


• Pictures/Video editing ability with a strong portfolio


• Knowledge of timing, motivation and continuity


• Creative mind, writing and storytelling skills
