JOB SUMMARY:



  • The Executive Director reports directly to the Managing Director and oversee the investment, finance control and corporate resource departments.

  • He will also participate with the board of directors in developing a vision and strategic plan to guide the organization.


RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Provide leadership support to the Investment Team.

  • Ensure daily management of the portfolio in line with stated objectives and in compliance with the portfolio policy statement.

  • Ensure preparation of accurate projection statements for all funds.

  • Ensure effective management of Legacy fund and other funds by tracking Corporate Actions and Preparing periodic portfolio reports.

  • Prepare standard Board Committee Reports on monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Ensure the Team conducts the Company’s Limit Equities Research and maintain the stock trading spread.

  • Carry-out research surveillance of financial markets – Stock market, the money market and Fixed Income Securities as well as any other new investment outlet as may be approved by PenCom.

  • Ensure the maintenance of Money Market Surveillance Rates sheet by updating bank ratings and liquidity.

  • Conduct the Company’s Limit Equities Research and maintain the stock trading spread. Maintain oversight function by monitoring compliance in respect of PenCom investment guideline.

  • Ensures the company is IFRS compliant in its financial control, company accounting, fund accounting and multi-stakeholder financial information and business intelligence systems running on cutting-edge technologies.

  • Establishment, coordination and monitoring of the company’s Management, Board, tax and other statutory and financial reporting and information systems.

  • Leading and mobilizing organizational resources for the development of strategy plans, financial models and business plans.

  • Establishment and monitoring of financial and operational performance management systems in line with the Company’s business model, goals, and targets.

  • Direct and coordinate FCMB Pensions’ financial planning and budget management functions.

  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of divisions and departments.

  • Manage the preparation of the official annual report and actual revenues, transfers, and expenses.

  • Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.

  • Oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of the organization's programs and services.

  • Ensure that the programs and services offered by the organization contribute to the organization's mission and reflect the priorities of the Board.

  • Monitor the day-to-day delivery of services of the organization to maintain or improve quality.

  • Determine staffing requirements for organizational management and services delivery.

  • Establish a positive, healthy, and safe work environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations.

  • Recruit, interview, and select staff that have the right technical and personal abilities to help further the organization's mission.

  • Ensure that all staff receives an orientation to the organization and that appropriate training is provided.

  • Implement a performance management process for all staff which includes monitoring the performance of staff on an on-going basis and conducting an annual performance review.

  • Discipline staff when necessary, using appropriate techniques; release staff when necessary, using appropriate and legally defensible procedures.


REQUIREMENTS:



  • First Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or Social Sciences.

  • Minimum of 18 years working experience, with at least 13 years in the Financial Services Industry, and at least 7 years in Top Management.

  • Additional qualifications (MSc, MBA, PHD, etc) and other relevant Professional certifications will be an added advantage.

  • Must be a graduate member of either the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and/or Institute of Charted Accountants, CFA.

  • Knowledge of Federal and State Laws and Regulations as well as Accreditation Standards.

  • Expert knowledge of the Pension Reform Act.

  • Should possess marketing, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Should possess knowledge of geographical spread.
