Responsibilities



  • Fulfil secretarial duties, such as writing of correspondences, coordinating tasks, taking minutes, and managing files, planning of the calendar of meetings and travels.

  • Prioritize and respond to all communications sent to the General Secretary's Office in a timely manner, while ensuring that all relevant information is properly escalated, documented and filed for future reference.

  • Draft various legal documents

  • Manage communication between CAF Secretariat and external stakeholders

  • Anticipate legal concerns from an institutional point of view

  • Examine national, international, and local laws to identify any rules that must be followed and identifying conflicts that might arise

  • Assist in the overall legal coordination of CAF Executive Committee and Executive Committee meetings' organization

  • Assist in the overall coordination of the organization of CAF General Assembly

  • Ensure compliance with the statutory procedures for the proper conduct of CAF General Assembly

  • Review and prepare meeting files

  • Draft meeting minutes if necessary

  • Assist in supervising the organization of CAF events and report to the General Secretary

  • Act as a relay between the Head of GS Office and the operational teams

  • Assist the Head of GS Office with any additional tasks necessary to deliver the organization's strategic and administrative objectives.


Requirements (Profile)



  • Master’s Degree in Law.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role.

  • Previous ex in an international organization.

  • Fluent in English spoken and written is a must. Command of French or/and Arabic is an advantage.

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and other modern IT tools.

  • Organization and prioritization: Ability to manage administrative tasks under pressure.

  • Communication skills: Ability to draft, format, and review legal and communication documents in English and create communication templates.

  • Policy development: Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective office operations.

  • Attention to detail: Ability to properly escalate, document, and file relevant information for future reference.

  • Knowledge of Diplomacy and Government relations is a plus.
