Summary of Role
- Responsible for driving the organization's business development strategies, enhancing its current portfolio, and exploring new business opportunities. Responsible for efficiently executing business strategies that are in line with organizational objectives.
- To also coordinate the regional business development managers to identify regional market opportunities and build working relationships amongst a network of clients to assess market demand and provide new offerings.
Job Description
- Direct approach to drive cost-benefit analysis and financial modelling of new business diligence reports and regulatory restrictions on new business ventures.
- Drive collaboration with internal stakeholders to develop plans for adapting existing portfolios to new business opportunities.
- Drive new technologies to enhance business portfolio and optimize business processes.
- Drive product research initiatives to understand future impacts on product offerings and production.
- Establish business development strategies to ensure alignment with overall organizational strategy.
- Coordinate the activities of the business development team centrally to ensure alignment of goals and attainment of targets and deadlines
- Formalize new business agreements with identified partners, suppliers and vendors upon management approval
- Formulate targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned with business development strategies
- Guide business development research reports on potential revenue streams and business threats
- Lead development of business intelligence frameworks to improve data analytics, predictive modelling and market assessments.
- Lead local or regional team discussions to finalize decisions on business development.
- Lead new business ventures and plan approaches and market entries.
- Lead relationship building with industry players and develop strategies to leverage network for business opportunities and partnerships.
- Lead the department's financial budgeting process to acquire funds for the department's activities.
- Ensure detailed daily, weekly and monthly report of activities is communicated to the GMD
- Carry out any other responsibilities as assigned by the GMD
Educational Qualifications·
- Bachelor's degree/Masters in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Finance, or related field
- 8 years Minimum Experience in a Similar Role
- Minimum of 6 years post graduate cognate experience, 2 years out of which must be in a managerial position.
- Demonstrate understanding and application of complex sales techniques and track record creating, negotiating and closing multi-million large scale deals.
