JOB SUMMARY



  • Responsible for execution of Debt and Equity Capital Market transactions.

  • Responsible for execution of Business Advisory mandates including but not limited to Mergers and Acquisition (Buy and Sell side), Divestments, Business Valuations.

  • Provides support to the company's business in carrying out thorough analysis of projects and investments; and provides key research support to the Investment Banking unit in originating and executing mandates and developing pitches.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Supports origination and structuring of investment banking transactions:

  • Facilitates distribution of debt and equity securities and identifying potential investors/buyers on MA mandates;

  • Drafts memoranda, management presentations and marketing materials for sale assignments;

  • Responsible for management of key transaction work streams including direct liaison with key client stakeholders:

  • Conducts industry and company-specific due diligence, research, analysis, and documentation of live transactions:

  • Coordinates development of pitch books for product offerings including debt and equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and valuations

  • Conducts comprehensive analytical review and forecast of financial statements;

  • Oversees preparation of financial models and business valuations;

  • Carries out advanced research on general economic dynamics and identification of investment opportunities and prepares reports and recommendations for internal and external strategic clients;

  • Directly oversees the performance and development of analysts, interns working on assigned transactions/businesses:

  • Communicates with regulatory authorities, including SEC, FMDO, NASD and the Nigerian Exchange Group;

  • Keeps abreast of corporate developments, rules and regulations:

  • Develops his/herself by actively seeking opportunities for growth, demonstrating commitment to personal learning and development.

  • Builds relationships and communicates effectively in order to positively influence peers and stakeholders:

  • Maintains and develops relationships with corporate clients, financial sponsors as well as banks, funds and other debt investors active in the market.


EDUCATION



  • Bachelor's degree in numerical disciplines such as Accounting, Economic, Statistic, Business Administration, Banking and Finance or related field from a reputable institution

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business is an added advantage

  • Professional certifications such as ICON, ACCA, ACA, LIMA, CISA, FRM, CFA, CFP (required).

  • Must be a SEC sponsored individual


TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft End and VBA


KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS



  • Knowledge of the financial markets

  • In-depth knowledge of Financial Analysis and Modelling

  • Political awareness and socio-economic trend

  • Working knowledge of deal structuring and closing principals

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

WORK EXPERIENCE



  • 5 —7 years post NYSC work experience in a finance or business background, particularly on the quantitative side.
