We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Curriculum Leader to join our Mathematics Department.
As the Curriculum Leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the mathematics curriculum and ensuring its alignment with educational standards and objectives.
You will lead a team of passionate educators, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation in mathematics education.
Responsibilities:
Develop and oversee the implementation of the mathematics curriculum, ensuring alignment with national and state standards, as well as the school's educational goals.
Collaborate with teachers to design engaging and rigorous mathematics instructional materials, assessments, and resources.
Provide leadership and support to mathematics teachers, including mentoring, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the mathematics curriculum and instructional practices through data analysis and feedback mechanisms.
Stay updated on current trends, research, and best practices in mathematics education, integrating new methodologies and technologies into the curriculum as appropriate.
Liaise with stakeholders, including parents, administrators, and external organizations, to communicate curriculum initiatives and gather feedback.
Lead departmental meetings and facilitate collaboration among mathematics educators to promote a cohesive and progressive approach to teaching and learning.
Collaborate with other curriculum leaders and administrators to ensure interdisciplinary connections and coherence across the curriculum.
Qualifications:
Master's or doctoral degree, M.Ed. Degree or M.Sc. with PGDE certificate (or in view) in Mathematics Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.
TRCN certificate will be an additional advantage
Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in both Cambridge and Nigerian Curriculum and Previous experience in curriculum development, preferably in a leadership role within a mathematics department.
Strong understanding of educational standards, assessment practices, and instructional strategies in mathematics education.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues.
Proficiency in data analysis and using assessment data to inform instructional decision-making.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of current research and trends in mathematics education.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and work as part of a team.
