Position Overview:



  • As an Addiction Therapist Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in our mission to support individuals in overcoming addiction and reclaiming their lives. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide counseling, psychoeducation, and support services to individuals and their families.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand clients' addiction history, mental health status, and treatment needs.

  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, addressing topics such as substance use, relapse prevention, coping skills, and life management.

  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families on addiction, recovery principles, and healthy lifestyle practices.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including medical professionals, social workers, and community organizations, to ensure coordinated care and support.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of client interactions, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in addiction treatment.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.

  • Certification or licensure in addiction counseling or a willingness to work towards certification.

  • Previous experience in addiction treatment, counseling, or related field is preferred but not required.

  • Strong understanding of addiction dynamics, recovery principles, and evidence-based treatment modalities.

  • Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality.
