Role Summary

• We are seeking a Senior Field Supervisor working closely with the Field Operations Lead to oversee and optimize the sourcing of raw milk from local pastoralists through Rangers for our dairy manufacturing operations.


• The Senior Field Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of all field activities, from milk aggregation (ensuring the highest standards of quality and volume targets are consistently met) to pastoralist outreach and engagement.


• This role requires strategic input into field operations, effective team management, and fostering relationships with local communities and pastoralists.


• The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to leveraging technology to achieve organizational goals.


• As the Senior Field Supervisor, you will report directly to the Field Operations Lead.

Responsibilities

Daily Operations:

• Oversee daily milk aggregation operations, ensuring timely delivery to the factory.


• Implement and support the integration of new technologies to enhance field operations efficiency.

Team Management:

• Lead and develop a team of Field Officers, providing training and support to enhance their skills and competencies.


• Monitor team performance through KPI tracking and provide necessary guidance to meet targets.


• Facilitate weekly field-based meetings, fostering team cohesion and productivity.

Pastoralist Outreach and Engagement:

• Drive expansion strategies, identifying new areas for program implementation, and engaging local leaders and pastoralists.


• Coordinate training initiatives for pastoralists and facilitate community engagement activities.


• Build and maintain strong relationships with cooperatives and pastoralist communities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Agribusiness, or a related field.


• 2-4 years of experience in a supervisory role within the dairy industry or agricultural sector, with a focus on milk sourcing and collection.


• Passion for food and agriculture aligned with the company’s mission and vision.


• Proven ability to develop and execute strategies to achieve field operations objectives.


• Strong understanding of dairy farming practices, milk quality standards, and supply chain management.


• Willingness to travel extensively within regions to oversee field operations and engage with suppliers.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in English and Hausa.


• Proficiency in G-suite and MS Office, with strong MS Excel skills.


• Analytical mindset with the ability to accurately report on field operations data.


• Strong interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills.


• Experience using data and KPIs to monitor performance.


• Previous experience managing smallholder farmers is desirable.


• Patience, humility, and empathy in working with farmers.


• Integrity, accountability, and a commitment to ethical practices in all interactions.


• Fluency in English and Hausa languages.
