Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
Ensure accounting transactions are carried out in line with best practices.
Prepare periodic financial statements and ensure same as true reflection of all accounting transactions.
Carry out daily reconciliation of all sales lodgments i.e cash and electronics payment to ensure correctness of all transactions from all business units.
Ensure financial discipline and prudence in all transactions.
Carry out monthly stock reconciliations to avoid stock out.
Review all receivables and payables for accuracy or correctness
Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
Provide technical support and advice on Management Accountant
Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
Provide input into department’s goal setting process
Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
Support month-end and year-end close process
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Requirements
HND / BSc. Graduate in Accounting
ACA certification is an added advantage.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Senior Accountant in a reputable firm.
Must have experience in payroll.
Familiarity with financial accounting statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like QuickBooks, Sage and Peachtree.
Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
