Our client, in the retail industry, is looking for an experienced Assistant HR Manager to support their staff of over 500 employees across their various branch locations. The Assistant Human Resources Manager should have the ability to interact with employees from every level of the organization and provide general support for all aspects of human resources.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The HR Operations Manager will play a central role in overseeing, managing, and streamlining human resources operations. Responsibilities will encompass budget management, policy implementation, improvement of employee relations, and supervision of recruitment processes. The role will be crucial in guaranteeing the smooth running of all internal HR processes. An individual that is customer-centric and demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills would excel in this position, and it is an exciting opportunity to join one of Nigeria’s leading retailers to build a career in Human Resources. This is an onsite position from Monday to Friday.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ASSISTANT HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER:
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements.
- Overseeing the end-to-end recruitment process, from job posting to seamless onboarding for new employees.
- Set objectives for the various teams and track progress based on metrics.
- Monitor internal HR systems and databases.
- Act as a consultant to managers and staff regarding policies and procedures.
- Address employees’ queries on issues related to compensation and labour regulations, and all other relevant topics.
- Managing the administration of compensation and benefits programs, including salary reviews, bonuses, and other incentives.
- Prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
- Complete HR operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field
- A minimum of 3 years of HR operations experience in retail and sales, with significant responsibilities in areas such as recruiting, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, and compliance.
- Hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems
- In-depth knowledge of labour law and HR best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on process improvement and data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to handle confidential HR information with discretion.
- Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities to manage multiple HR responsibilities effectively.
- Industry experience within the retail space is an added advantage
