We are seeking a skilled and experienced procurement officer for our client in the Oil and Gas industry. A procurement officer is responsible for managing the purchasing process within an organization, ensuring that goods, services, and materials are acquired at the best possible price and quality.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with department heads to understand their procurement requirements and develop procurement plans and strategies.
Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers/vendors based on factors such as price, quality, and delivery time.
Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable contracts, including pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
Generate purchase orders, review purchase requisitions for accuracy, and ensure timely processing of orders.
Monitor contract performance, resolve disputes, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Coordinate with inventory management teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
Ensure that purchased goods and services meet quality standards and specifications.
Identify opportunities for cost savings through process improvements, supplier consolidation, or negotiation tactics.
Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, such as supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and supplier reliability issues.
Requirements
OND/ HND/BSc
1-2 year’s experience in procurement
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office applications.
