We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Guidance Counselor to join our team.
The ideal candidate for this position has excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and an understanding of various learning styles.
The Guidance Counselor will work closely with students to develop academic plans, create individualized schedules and advocate for individual students and groups on class trips and other school events.
Job Responsibilities
Implements all corporation policies as they relate to the student/parent concerns
Develop & coordinate with Administration on master schedule and scheduling of all students
Counsel individuals and small groups of students toward social and emotional growth
Coordinates counseling services with outside agencies
Assists in coordination and implementation of school testing
Guide students through the development of educational and career plans
Assists students in evaluating their skills in order to help them determine what they need to do next to achieve their goals
Advises students (and parents) about diploma requirements and educational programs they need for particular careers and college
Maintains confidentiality in all matters pertaining to student academic records
Participates in and assists with the intervention/crisis team process
Attendance at any required meetings
Creates and delivers Classroom Guidance activities such as organization skills, note taking, calculating GPA, keeping track of credits, and others as needed.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Guidance and Counseling from an accredited college or university is mandatory.
Master's Degree and Relevant Certifications is an added advantage.
Must have knowledge of various counseling techniques; ability to communicate orally and in written form;
Ability to analyze educational data, testing instruments and measurement practices;
Knowledge of crisis prevention and arbitration techniques;
Knowledge of career counseling resources;
Knowledge of district policies and state and national legislation as related to Guidance / Counseling functions;
Ability to operate various software applications, perform routine typing and basic computer operations;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with parents, instructors, students and the public.
