Job Overview
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating costs, managing budgets, and ensuring the cost-effectiveness of construction projects.
- The Quantity Surveyor will collaborate with various stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and contractors, to ensure projects are delivered within budgetary constraints while maintaining high-quality standards
Duities / Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labor, and other related expenses.
- Conduct thorough cost analysis and provide insights to optimize project budgets
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments to vendors and employees.
- Analyze financial data and provide reports to management to support decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax laws and financial reporting requirements.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure the best possible pricing and terms.
- Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support decision-making.
- Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate quantity calculations.
- Conduct periodic site visits to assess the quality of work and identify potential cost implications.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and understanding of project requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes.
- Proficiency in cost estimating software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
